SOPA and PIPA are not 2 cartoon characters, although that could be a pretty interesting thing to see. In fact, SOPA stands for Stop Online Piracy Act and PIPA for
Protect IP Act. As corporate supporters of Senate, they demand from the US government to block ANY of us from accessing the internet the way we normally do and to take down ANY website. ANY. That includes Google, Wikipedia, Facebook, Craigslist, You Tube, eBay, or even this very Delicious site, if that hurts their profits — without prior judicial oversight or due process — in the name of combating “online piracy.”
Actually, Members of Congress are trying to go after pirates and counterfeiters but SOPA and PIPA are obviously having different agenda.
If the bill passes our internet will never be the same again. The censorship disguished as protecting intellectual property on the internet, which cannot be done now or ever. This is BIG Brother looking over your shoulder. What if we just make a small conscious contribution to our lives and in fact call our local Congressman.
